Jennifer Holloway

Studied singing at the Manhattan School of Music, then at Georgia University. Was a scholarship holder of Gerdine Young Artist Programme, organised at the Opera Theatre in St. Louis. In 2005, she won the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions for the region of Georgia, and a year later she took first place in McCammon’s Competition. Holloway is also a laureate of the Anna Case Mackay award, which she received when completing her participation in the programme for young singers, Apprentice Singer Program, organised at the Opera in Santa Fe. In 2006 she debuted in Europe on the stage of Teatro Regio di Parma and the Parisian Théâtre du Châtelet, where she realised the role of the baroness Aspasii in G. Rossini’s La pietra del paragone. In the next season she debuted in the Madrid Teatro Real as Irene in G.F. Handel’s Tamerlano and in Opera Bordeaux as Idamantes in W.A. Mozart’s Idomeneo. In the summer of 2008, she was a guest at the opera festival in English Glyndebourne, where she sang the role of Hansel in a new production of Laurent Pelly, E. Humperdinck’s Hansel & Gretel. She appeared several times on the stages of opera theatres, among others in Tulsa, Pittsburgh, Dallas and Santa Fe. She cooperates with outstanding conductors, among others, Emmanuelle Haïm and Jean-Christophe Spinosi. Holloway also feels comfortable in oratorio and cantata repertoire. Among others, she sang A. Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart’s Vesperae solennes, G.B. Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and L. van Beethoven’s Mass C-sharp. In the season 2009/10, the artist shall perform in the role of Irene in G.F. Handel’s Tamerlano at the Opera in Los Angeles, Page in R. Strauss’ Salome, staged in the Madrid Teatro Real and Dorabella in W.A. Mozart’s Così fan tutte shown at the Opera in Dallas.
