Tilman Lichdi« backHe began singing lessons at the age of 18 under the supervision of Alois Tremel. He studied trumpet playing in Günther Beetz’s class in Mannheim, and then vocal arts with Charlotte Lehmann in Würzburg. He perfected his technique with Ernst Huber-Contwig, Helmut Deutsch and Peter Schreier. Lichdi perform the majority of the most important oratorio masterpieces. He is a particularly valued interpreter of the evangelist part in J.S. Bach’s passions and oratorios. He also successfully performs in operas, among others, by W.A. Mozart (role of Tamin in The Magic Flute, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, count Belfiore in La finta giardiniera, Fernand in Così fan tutte) and by G. Rossini (role of count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville). In the season of 2005, the artist joined the regular group at the Theatre in Nuremberg. In the previous season, he could be seen among others in the role of Belmont in Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio and Arthur in Bellini’s Puritans. In the year 2009, he was also a guest performer at the Parisian Théâtre du Châtelet, where he took part in a spectacular venture – the performance of C. Monteverdi’s Vespers. Among others, Lichdi cooperated with excellent conductors, such as Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Kent Nagano and Ton Koopman. |
