Topi Lehtipuu« backOutstandingly talented Finnish tenor. Born in Australia, at present lives in Paris. Studied at the J. Sibelius Academy of Music in Helsinki. He debuted during the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Helsinki and at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris. He is particularly valued both for interpretations of early music works, as well as modern. He cooperates with outstanding conductors, like Ivor Bolton, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Emmanuelle Haïm, René Jacobs, Paul McCreesh, Riccardo Muti, Christophe Rousset, Sir Simon Rattle, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Jean-Christophe Spinosi. He performed in Japan, the United States and in the most famous concert halls in Berlin, Brussels, Helsinki, London, Paris, Salzburg, Madrid, Vienna and others. In his repertoire, among others, there are works by G.F. Handel (Acis and Galatea, Ariodante, Jephta, La Resurrezione), Ch. W. Gluck (Iphigenia in Tauris), W. A. Mozart (The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte, La finta giardiniera), R. Wagner (Nuremberg Singers), I. Strawiński (The Rake's Progress), A. Schönberg (Ode to Napoleon Buonaparte). He has recorded for the record companies Naïve and Virgin Classics (among others, La Fida Ninfa by A. Vivaldi conducted by Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda by C. Monteverdi with Emmanuelle Haïm). |
